Abdoun is the pulsating heart of Amman! It deserves a new visit from the Homes Jordan team to explore its important landmarks and neighborhoods.

Northern Abdoun

Northern Abdoun encompasses the Abdoun Square, extending from the Sixth Circle - Um Uthaina East - passing through the Fifth Circle along Zahran Street, then turning right towards Princess Basma Street until it reaches Abdoun Bridge and finally intersects with Prince Ali Street.

Northern Abdoun includes important landmarks such as Abdoun Square, Avenue Mall, Sheraton Hotel, Bristol Hotel, and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Southern Abdoun

Southern Abdoun starts from the extension of Queen Zein Al-Sharaf Street with Airport Street, which later intersects with Prince Ali Street, marking the point where Southern Abdoun meets Northern Abdoun. The southern boundaries of Abdoun reach the Abdoun Corridor and then to Freedom Street.

The strategic location of Southern Abdoun with Freedom Street and the Abdoun Corridor has added significant value to Abdoun, serving as a safe and important passage from and to the airport. Southern Abdoun is also distinguished by hosting the U.S. Embassy, along with multiple embassies such as Qatar, Australia, Malaysia, and Syria, in addition to other important landmarks like Taj Mall, the Japanese Garden, and several major banks.

Abdoun Square

Abdoun Square is a significant landmark in a strategic location that connects Abdoun with various areas of Amman from multiple directions. Abdoun Square is directly linked to the Fourth Circle through the tunnel that extends from it to Abdoun Bridge, and it features an open road network that alleviates traffic congestion on major roads to the Fifth Circle, Third Circle, Wadi Saqra Street, and has become a main route for commuters to and from the airport.

The strategic location of Abdoun Square has attracted real estate developers to invest in building luxurious commercial properties that later attracted businessmen to own the most luxurious international brands and agencies in Abdoun. Over time, Abdoun Square has become a prime choice for commercial banks and financial institutions offering comprehensive services to the residents of the area.

Abdoun Bridge

Abdoun Bridge, with its unique cantilevered cable-stayed design supported by concrete piers, has added distinctive engineering value to the region. It is the first suspended bridge that provides a slope compatible with the speed of vehicles on it. In addition to its engineering value, Abdoun Bridge has added a distinctive aesthetic value to the Abdoun area and is famous among other areas in Amman for its beautiful night lighting.

The length of Abdoun Bridge is 450 meters, stretching from the Fourth Circle and ending at Abdoun Square.

Abdoun Corridor

Abdoun Corridor is an important road network in Amman. The Greater Amman Municipality developed Hussein Bin Abdullah Street and Princess Basma Street to create the Abdoun Corridor project, completed in 2016. The purpose of creating the Abdoun Corridor was to connect South Amman and West Amman towards East Amman, in addition to alleviating traffic congestion on major streets in central Amman, such as Zahran Area, King Abdullah II Street, and Zein Al-Sharaf Street. The project aimed to facilitate traffic flow between the airport road and downtown through major external streets without the need to navigate through internal streets.

The length of Abdoun Corridor is approximately 5 kilometers, including organized and demarcated multi-use lands over extensive areas reaching 600 dunums. Abdoun Corridor also includes a dedicated walking path called Amman Walkway. Today, Abdoun Corridor is a very important and smooth-flowing road, and people prefer to use it for commuting between West, South, and East Amman through its multiple lanes on both streets.
